About

A practice built at the intersection of conservation, community, and code.

Sahyadri Mitra ("friend of the Sahyadri") supports NGOs, foundations and government programs working across the Western Ghats — from Gujarat's Dangs through Maharashtra's Sahyadris to Karnataka, Goa, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

What we do

We design monitoring & evaluation frameworks, build longitudinal survey systems, and ship data platforms and dashboards that programs actually use. Some engagements are advisory; others are full build-and-run.

Across water, environment, livelihood, biodiversity, mental health, and gender & inclusion, our common thread is a longitudinal, stakeholder-linked view of change — not just counts and averages.

Who we work with

  • Community-based NGOs running long-arc landscape programs
  • Foundations and CSR teams funding multi-site portfolios
  • Government programs looking for outcome-level reporting
  • Research groups needing durable data pipelines for field studies

How we work

Landscape first

We think in whole landscapes — water, land, livelihood and people are one system. Our tools reflect that.

Field teams own it

A system that field staff can't use every Monday is worthless. Simplicity in the field beats sophistication in a slide.

Evidence over vibes

Program decisions should stand on data that traces back to a named household — not selective anecdotes.

Community data, handled with care

Consent, minimisation, retention and access are design choices, not compliance afterthoughts.
